Nuclear medicine is one of the specialties that has its role in the management of patients through different diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. The program of Nuclear Medicine Technology (NMT) at Inaya Medical Colleges is designed to provide the students with an up-to-date knowledge, skills and values in the field of Nuclear Medicine.
The Nuclear medicine studies uses tiny amounts of radioactive materials, or radiopharmaceuticals, to examine organ function and structure to determine the severity of or treat a variety of diseases, including many types of cancers, heart disease, gastrointestinal, endocrine, neurological disorders and other abnormalities within the body. Because nuclear medicine procedures can pinpoint molecular activity within the body, they offer the potential to identify disease in its earliest stages as well as a patient’s immediate response to therapeutic interventions.
Unlike conventional imaging studies that produce primarily structural pictures, nuclear medicine and molecular imaging visualize how the body is functioning and what’s happening at the cellular and molecular level. The evolution in nuclear medicine imaging from producing measuring the body’s physiological processes to hybrid imaging is critically important to all facets of modern medicine, from diagnosing the disease at its earliest stage and developing more effective therapies, to personalizing medical treatment.
Student will have the opportunity to learn about routine diagnostic examinations, SPECT and PET and PET-CT imaging, radiopharmacy, in-vitro procedures, therapeutic and theranostic applications. Students will be also supported and encouraged to advance their interpersonal skills, developing flexibility, accountability, and employability.
The NMT curriculum combines theoretical knowledge for the principles of medical imaging with practical, hands-on clinical experience, this program will prepare students for a career as a nuclear medicine technologist
The program provides the healthcare community with Nuclear medicine technologists recognized with their originality and breadth of vision to become leaders, problem solvers, and innovators in every area of medical practice.
In the name of Allah, peace, and blessings be upon the Messenger of Allah Mohammad, and his family, and companions:
Welcome to the Department of Nuclear Medicine Technology at Inaya Medical Colleges, where a dedicated team thrives on fostering academic and practical excellence.
Our program provides the students with the required knowledge, skills, and values in the nuclear medicine specialty starting from the basic sciences of nuclear medicine moving to the practical and clinical applications of different nuclear medicine procedures. In each of these areas, we strive for excellence and provide state-of-the-art comprehensive tools and laboratories in the college and at the high-caliber training sites.
The college administration was precise and keen in the selection process of the teaching staff, which resulted in supporting the department with some distinguished faculty members and researchers with a variety of experiences.
It is our mission to retain the very best faculty members and to foster their development as a collaborative team. We maintain our focus on providing high-quality education for tomorrow’s nuclear medicine technologists’ leaders and advancing research in Nuclear medicine.
Research is an integral part of what we do and is an area of emphasis in our department through providing the students with the opportunity to study the research methods and its basics moving to submitting a research project at the final graduation level.
We conduct our efforts in an environment of excellence and a culture of collegiality that fulfills the student’s expectations and achieves their aspirations. I am so proud of the Department of Nuclear Medicine Technology at Inaya Medical Colleges and I encourage you to visit our department and also take a careful look at our department website.
