Health Informatics (HI)

The College of Health Information Systems at the Medical Care Colleges offers a bachelor’s program in health informatics which was founded in 2017 and Students are required to complete 131 credit hours in a four-year period.  Health Informatics Program is consistent with the mission of the college by focusing on preparing health informatics professionals who can help the college achieve its mission. Health Informatics program aims to fulfill the college missions by producing high quality graduates. Graduates students will develop decision-making, problem solving, managing & research skills to be able to function efficiently and effectively as a member of the health care team. Graduates students will be able to work efficiently and effectively in multiple healthcare fields.

The college offers bachelor degree of health Informatics to prepare graduates with the required knowledge, professional and technical skills related to health care and information technology.

The program in Health Informatics is designed to combine concepts in health sciences and information technology to provide students with the necessary knowledge and skills to graduate competent health Informatics specialists to serve in different health informatics disciplines and meet the requirements of the society in compliance with the Saudi’s vision 2030.

The aim of this program to prepare health informatics professionals who can assist the improvement of healthcare quality as graduates will have a great contribution to work efficiently and effectively in healthcare sector.

 At the end of the program, students undergo internship program that offers them practical experience with the help of organizations that adopt the health information technology.

  • Prepare specialists who possess the knowledge, skills and attitudes to success as health informatics professionals.
  • Establish partnerships with well-known health informatics organizations and institutions to exchange knowledge and expertise in health information education and research and to promote the adoption of best practices in health informatics.
  • Conduct contemporary research in the field of health informatics to improve the quality of healthcare in the region.
  • Attract high-qualified faculty members to improve health informatics education and provide training courses, technical and administrative advice and consultations to the community.
